Can I replace the main battery myself? If so, what type of battery can I use?

Yes, you can use a 12-volt 7amp power battery. The battery is located where the panel receives power. Open the alarm panel, it will be located in the bottom. It has two leads on the top, black & red. We recommend you remove the leads from the battery and take it with you to the store and ask for a replacement. Plug the leads back into the new battery. The system might take up to 24 hours to read the new voltage. Trouble might need to be cleared by arming & disarming the system.

What will happen if my phone line is out? Will my system still be monitored?

If your phone line is out, your system will not be able to communicate with the monitoring station. If it tries to communicate you will receive a failure to communicate trouble. Once dial tone is restored, normal monitoring will continue. You may need to arm & disarm or send a test signal to clear trouble if it remains.

We always recommend you test your system if there is ever a question of communication.

Please note, if you have a cellular communicator it will still communicate without dial tone.
